Tripwire Harlot is a small artist-driven press that began in late 2019 by playwright Sheila Callaghan (me). We have one part-time powerhouse named Daniela Naranjo-Zarate who does outreach and socials and basically everything else. Jacqueline Goldfinger coordinates and curates The Sledgehammer Series. I design unusable book covers and update this website intermittently. If the code in that header is broken, you know where to find me.
Tripwire Harlot Press is dedicated to spotlighting adventurous work that might otherwise be overlooked by risk-averse institutions. It seeks to give voice to unique, insightful perspectives through interrogation and creative inquiry. It challenges our presumed limitations around dramatic works in print.
And as a registered L.L.C., Tripwire functions as a vehicle for authors to monetize their work. Aside from printing expenses and general overhead, all proceeds from book sales go directly to the artists. Authors retain the rights to their work in full without being subject to commissions, royalties, licensing fees, distribution costs, etc.
